Greeting from JFPA Chairman
|
| The Japan Fluid Power Association (JFPA) was reestablished in 1999 by amending the articles of association of its predecessor, Japan Hydraulics and Pneumatics Association, to meet the needs of today's fluid power industry. The history behind the reorganization of the Association dates back to 1956. In the fiscal year 2010, being the election year of the Association, I, Toshikazu Miyauchi (President, Konan Electric Co., Ltd.) have been elected Chairman of the Association at its General Meeting held on May 19, 2010. As Chairman in this drastically changing economic environment, I pledge to devote myself to the Association and appreciate your further support and guidance. |

Chairman
Toshikazu Miyauchi |
| JFPA is presently composed of 65 full member
companies, including manufacturers and suppliers
of hydraulic, pneumatic, and water hydraulic
equipment and providers of the technology.
JFPA is also supported by 64 associate member
companies that support the activities of
the Association. Our activities are extensive
and designed to contribute to the further
advancement of the industry at both domestic
and global levels. Our activities include
the standardization of industrial codes relating
to ISO, JIS, and other organization standards,
which is a common challenge across the industry;
the promotion of industry-academia collaboration;
the technical investigation of the trends
of relevant overseas laws and regulations,
such as the RoHS Directive and REACH; publicity
and public relations, including the publication
of the magazines "FLUID POWER"
and "MONTHLY FLUID POWER"; and
international exchange activities, including
participation in international conferences
and exchanges with overseas associations.
Fluid power equipment and systems, which
use fluids, such as oil, air, water, and
others, as their media, are important functional
products that provide the "control"
and "driving power" for a variety
of "industrial machines." They
are also auxiliary equipment employed in
areas familiar to and inevitable in our lives,
such as "construction machinery,"
"semiconductor manufacturing equipment,"
"machining tools," "transportation
equipment," and "steel plant machinery."
Via its web site, JFPA continues to offer
the latest information on the fluid power
industry and hopes that such information
is widely used by concerned parties. We encourage
people to visit the web site frequently to
take advantage of the information, and welcome
your comments on the contents and your requests
for further information. |
